Single-flock Cornish yarn, traceable to the farm it came from. Founded in a barn near Helston in 1978. Relaunched by the founder’s son, with the same ethos and the same fleece.
Our Story
My mother Morwenna started spinning and dyeing single-flock Cornish fleece in a barn near Helston in 1978. For thirty years she sold her yarn by post and at country fairs — skeins wound by hand, each one traceable to the flock it came from.
She wound the business down in 2009 when she retired. The barn went quiet. The name stayed in people’s memories.
Now I’m restarting Morwenna Wool. Three Cornish farms. The same single-flock principle. The same attention to every skein. Modern execution, the same ethos my mother built — because some things shouldn’t be lost.

Every skein of Morwenna Wool is traceable to the farm and flock it came from. You’ll know exactly where your yarn began its journey.
Near Helston, West Cornwall
Cornish Mule flock on exposed coastal pasture. The fleece has a distinctive crimp from the salt winds — resilient, characterful yarn with real bounce.
Lizard Peninsula
Sheltered valley flock producing a softer, finer fleece. The yarn from Penhale has a gentle hand — ideal for garments worn close to the skin.
Bodmin Moor
Hardy moorland flock. The fleece is robust and textured — perfect for outerwear, blankets, and anything that needs to last generations.
